Dr. Eric Gessner is a highly trained, board-certified foot and ankle surgeon specializing in complex reconstructive procedures and advanced deformity correction. As a Colorado Springs native, Eric Gessner is proud to provide expert care to the community where he was raised and where he always knew he wanted to practice medicine.
Dr. Gessner earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, where he was also a collegiate cross country and track athlete. He continued his medical education at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA, followed by a rigorous three-year surgical residency in Foot and Reconstructive Rearfoot and Ankle Surgery at Community Medical Center in Scranton, Pennsylvania.
Recognized for his dedication to advanced surgical techniques, Dr. Eric Gessner completed specialized training in pediatric limb deformities at the internationally renowned Rubin Institute for Advanced Orthopedics at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. There, he focused on clubfoot correction and pediatric deformity management. He also traveled to the prestigious Russian Ilizarov Scientific Center for Restorative Traumatology and Orthopaedics, where he gained further expertise in complex deformity correction and external fixation techniques alongside leading orthopedic surgeons from around the world.
Dr. Gessner is a Diplomate of the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery, certified in Foot Surgery, Reconstructive Rearfoot and Ankle Surgery, and is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. His clinical interests include sports medicine, advanced bunion correction, pediatric orthopedics, and complex foot and ankle reconstruction.
