Zachary Van Hilsen DDS, MS

Kids Rock Pediatric Dentistry

Dr. Zach grew up in Gilbert, Arizona, as the oldest of six brothers. From an early age, he developed a love for caring for children while helping his parents with his younger siblings. Outside of family life, he enjoyed playing sports and working on his family’s ranch, raising Angus cattle.

Dr. Zach first fell in love with Colorado during his college years at Colorado College, where he played football and developed a deep appreciation for the state and its welcoming communities. After earning his degree, he decided to follow his passion for helping others and pursued his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of the Pacific in San Francisco.

After graduating in 2008, Dr. Zach spent two years in private practice, where he discovered his true calling: caring for children and patients with special needs. Inspired to provide the highest level of care to young patients, he completed a two-year pediatric dentistry residency at the University of Minnesota in 2012.

Dr. Zach’s journey eventually brought him back to Colorado Springs, where he and his wife, Sara, have chosen to raise their family and immerse themselves in this wonderful community.

Dr. Zach first connected with Dr. Stettler, the founder of Kids Rock Dentistry and Orthodontics, during his residency and has always admired the practice’s patient-first approach and commitment to creating a positive, fun experience for children. He is thrilled to be part of the Kids Rock team and looks forward to making your child’s dental visits something to smile about!

When he’s not in the office, Dr. Zach loves spending time outdoors with his wife and kids, exploring Colorado’s natural beauty, and cheering on his favorite sports teams.
